Wines from the heart

Cortuta wines

The Cortuta Project was born in 2014 from the desire to valorize the grapes of our best vineyards, identifying those most suited to the cultivation of specific varieties other than Teroldego.
Starting from the 2018 harvest, Leonardo Pilati, our oenologist, extends the “Cortuta protocol” to Pinot Bianco and Müller Thurgau, previously applied only to Lagrein and Chardonnay grapes.
It involves the application of specific vineyard management practices, harvest times and methods, as well as different winemaking techniques from those applied to other wines.
The focus is always on the raw material, for this reason, the winemaker decides each year if this is good enough: to express the identity of its specific variety, according to its land.

Cortuta from the Latin “protectress of the heart” are words engraved on our oldest barrel, below the sacred effigy of a saint, probably Santa Cordula, our lucky charm.

The Dolomites footprint

The Dolomites are our treasure, what makes our alpine environment so unique. A World Heritage that we must safeguard and preserve for future generations.
They have a strong influence on all the vineyards where Cortuta grapes are cultivated.
Climate, soil, traninig system, exposure: everything is closely linked to the mountain.

At work in the vineyard

The grapes aimed to produce Cortuta wines come from the vineyards considered as the most suited for the cultivation of specific varieties. The experience and historical memory of our winegrowers allowed us to identify these crus. Here, a unique microclimate, the careful hand of man and sustainable viticulture model, give us unique wines of excellent quality.

Winemaking process

The winemaking processes adopted by the winery have always been aimed to produce authentic wines, an expression of the Trentino area. In the Cortuta wines, this philosophy represents even more a guideline to be followed for a wiser and more measured use of wood.
This is the reason why Cortuta wines stand out for a great balance of primary (from the grapes), secondary (from fermentation processes), and tertiary (from maturation and aging) aromas and flavors.
Intense bouquet, marked freshness and minerality, but above all great typicity.
These are the distinctive features of Cortuta wines, #winesformtheheart
