Teroldego Rotaliano
Teroldego Rotaliano, the excellence of cantina Rotaliana wine-making, is a vigorous, powerful wine, with an intense ruby colour and a dry, lightly tannic and full-bodied flavour. Its unmistakable bouquet is rich in violet and raspberry nuances.
Since time immemorial the production areas of this great wine are famous and celebrated: Pasquari, Novali, Braide, Entichiar, Sorteselle and the Teroldeghe of Maso Cervara, a farmstead located at the beginning of the Non Valley.
All these vineyards are included in specific areas regulated by strict production codes, called "disciplinari di produzione". These rigorous codes govern the different stages of the wine production process (from the vineyard to consumption) and define the designations of origin for Teroldego wine which are characteristic of the Province of Trento: Rotaliano, Trentino and Valdadige.
The strong bond existing between wine and land is evident if we consider the case of Teroldego Rotaliano. This high quality wine has some unmistakable features, especially in terms of bouquet, that can not be found or reproduced in those products obtained from the same variety outside the Campo Rotaliano.
This area, the natural habitat of Teroldego Rotaliano, plays a key role in determining the unique nature and essence of this wine. In fact, thanks to its excellent microclimate for vine-growing, this land contributes to outline the specific features of Teroldego, such as its flavour, its bouquet, etc.
However, the “terroir” is not the only key factor that makes the Teroldego of cantina Rotaliana an outstanding wine. In fact, every year the winery continues to strengthen the oenological quality of its products through a steady process of research and experimentation and therefore vinifying only the best grapes, carefully selecting the cultivation areas and safeguarding the environmental balance.
Teroldego Rotaliano is rightly defined as "the Prince among Trentino wines", as it fully embodies the character, the generosity and the quality of the oenological resources of the Trentino region. A wine, first mentioned in some manuscripts of the 16th century, which is a finest expression of cantina Rotaliana wine-making skills.
